Convert HEIC to JPG on Android, without uploading

Photos from an iPhone land on your Android phone as .heic files that half your apps refuse to open. ConvertX asks Android's own HEIC decoder to read them and saves JPGs that open anywhere, in a batch, on the phone. Nothing leaves the device.

Frequently asked questions

Does it upload my photos to convert them?

No. The HEIC is decoded by Android's system decoder and the JPG is written on the phone. The app has no account and sends no files.

Why does my Android 8 phone say it can't open HEIC?

The system decoder ConvertX relies on arrived in Android 9. On older devices the file is skipped with a clear message.

Will the JPG look worse than the HEIC?

At Light or Balanced quality the difference is not visible at normal sizes. JPGs are typically 1.5–2× the size of the HEIC.

Can I convert a whole album at once?

Yes. Pick as many photos as you like; the queue processes them in order and keeps running if the screen locks.
