What to know before you convert
- PNG is larger than WebP, often 2–4×. That is expected for a lossless master.
- Animated WebPs are converted as their first frame; PNG has no animation.
- Lossy WebP artefacts are preserved exactly in the PNG; converting cannot restore detail.
