WebP: Google's web format: about a third smaller than JPG, with optional transparency and lossless mode. AVIF: The newest format, smallest files, still not opened by everything. ConvertX writes it but cannot read it.

Nothing is uploaded

ConvertX converts on the device. There is no server, no account and no file size or count limit beyond your storage. Location and camera details are removed from every output unless you turn on "Keep photo details" (AVIF output never carries them in ConvertX).

Frequently asked questions

Should I convert from WebP or from the original?

From the original (JPG, PNG, TIFF) whenever you still have it; re-encoding a lossy WebP compounds the loss.

Is the saving worth it?

For photographic content, usually 20–50 %. For small icons, often not.

Will it keep transparency?

Yes, AVIF supports alpha.
